North span of new bridge floats in

KITTERY (AP) — The north span of the new Memorial Bridge connecting New Hampshire and Maine has floated in.

The span on the Kittery side was carried on a barge early today to its final destination. Workers are preparing to set it in place.

Groups of onlookers turned out for the float-in, which started around 12:30 a.m.

After the span is set, work will start on the center span, which is scheduled to be added in June.
