DARCIE MOORE/THE TIMES RECORD Emergency personnel load a patient into a LifeFlight of Maine helicopter following a crash on I-295 in Bowdoinham Saturday afternoon. DARCIE MOORE/THE TIMES RECORD Richmond Fire Department coordinated a landing zone and a helicopter and crew with LifeFlight of Maine landed on I-295 near the scene and transported the driver.

The passenger did not have life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to a hospital.

The crash was approximately two miles beyond exit 38 northbound in Bowdoinham. I-295 was shut down at the crash scene, backing up traffic.

Frizzle said a state trooper on scene said the crash apparently happened after a front tire on the pickup truck blew.

Firefighters responded from Bowdoinham, Topsham, Richmond and Bowdoin.
