Curtis Library hosts annual how-to festival, block party

BRUNSWICK — Curtis Memorial Library will host the 4th annual free How-To Festival and Block Party Saturday, Sept. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Individuals and local business owners donate their time and talent to teach people of all ages a variety of fun and interesting skills.

According to the library, more than 700 attended last year’s celebration. This year there will be more free mini-workshops with information tables, food and other points of interest. Middle Street will be closed to vehicles to accommodate events happening at the library and in the street. There will be food trucks, demonstrations, giveaways, face painting and live music with local musicians.

Topics will include stargazing with a telescope, decorating on a dime, researching family history, painting kindness rocks, crafting, preparing family meals on a budget, making a festival hat and a number of how-to presentations. For more information go to curtislibrary.com.
