‘Food Stamped’ screening this evening

BRUNSWICK — Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program kicks off the SNAP Challenge, an opportunity to live on the SNAP budget of $4 a day for a week, with a screening of “Food Stamped.” The screening will be held in Curtis Memorial Library’s Morrell Meeting Room at 6 p.m. this evening. The event will last for two hours and will include the screening, a discussion, and an invitation to take the SNAP Challenge.

According to MCHPP: “The SNAP Challenge is an opportunity to reflect on the issue of food insecurity in our community, state, and nation. Anyone can join Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program and take the SNAP Challenge from September 18th through the 24th. Our goal is to foster a discussion through a weeklong experience where participants are encouraged to purchase all of their food using the average SNAP budget in Maine.
